Charlie Brown Christmas Stamp Caption Contest

Now through February 26 over at Linn’s Stamp website they are having a February cartoon caption contest: Charlie Brown.   It kicked off yesterday!   This is great fun to read and to realize we can all participate by sending in our entry (or entries) on a post card if possible to the Falls Church, VA address.

The 2015 Forever stamp of Charlie Brown looking in a mailbox is the inspiration for the contest to come up with a caption.

The article goes on to say

“There will be two prizes given: one for the best philatelic line, and one for the best nonphilatelic line.

The important thing is to use your sense of humor, because entries with a humorous twist have the best chance of winning a prize.

Put your entry (or entries) on a postcard if possible and send it to me, John Hotchner, Cartoon Contest, Box 1125, Falls Church, VA 22041-0125, or email it to jmhstamp@verizon.net. Be sure to include your mailing address.

For each winner, the prize will be the book Linn’s Stamp Identifier, published by Linn’s (a retail value of $12.99), or a 13-week subscription to Linn’s (a new subscription or an extension).”

There is another prize here that it looks to me is assumed and that is of ‘bragging rights’!   Let’s have some fun with this and participate in sending in a postcard and tell him “what you might be thinking or saying about the mail, … stamp collecting, or anything else.”

Talk about book ends on a week of blog posts including cartoon characters – last Saturday with Scooby-Doo! and today Charlie Brown!  Wishing you Best of luck!

Anchors Aweigh,

Helen
