Nov NaNoWriMo National Novel Writing Month

We are starting off the week sharing about the upcoming Nov NaNoWriMo National Novel Writing Month 2016.

My thanks to The Typosphere for carrying a call to sign-up recently; describing it as “If you’ve ever wanted to try your hand at writing a novel, NaNoWriMo is a high-velocity, low-expectations way to jump in.”

Perhaps while letter writing (or during thoughts of letter writing),  you have been creatively looking for an opportunity for a concentrated effort to see what you can accomplish with your writing.

The event is promoted as for those “Committed to writing 50,000 words in the 30 days of November”.  The event began in 1999.

NaNoWriMo – November 1-30, 2016

  • “Write a novel in a month!”
  • “Track your progress.”
  • “Get pep talks and support.”
  • “Meet fellow writers online and in person.”

Be sure to check out the How It Works page.

Here’s a link to the NaNoWriMo FAQ.  From what I saw one can get started now and queue this up. There is a map tracking 2016 Worldwide Word Counts.

Here’s to that novel you have thought about – NaNoWriMo; that reminds me of “Na-Nu Na-Nu” and thinking of old television episodes of Mork & Mindy with Robin Williams’ Mork from Ork!

Join  me tomorrow as we begin with Game 1 of the World Series 2016.  Go Cubs Go!

Anchors Aweigh,
Helen
